I'm getting excited as only 2 days until my next adventure. Packing has begun! I'm having a giggle to myself because the backpack I am taking this time is smaller than the one I just walked Camino Frances with (June-July). I should just take a suitcase given that i'm volunteering at Albergue...
I arrived in Santiago yesterday after walking Frances from St Jean. I have been planning to walk to Finisterre then Muxia starting tomorrow. I woke up this morning and wondered why I feel I need to walk it after already walking 799+kms! My body feels good so that's not an issue. I'm very tired...
Hello,
I'm in Bercianos del Camino tonight. Having an incredible time. Past 2 days have been full on with rain & strong head winds. Temperature is cool so walking the Meseta doesn't feel so challenging once you get your head around the wind!
I'm planning a rest day in Astorga and wondered if...
Is El Molino worth the extra time it takes for them to pick you up & drop you back in Hornillos next morning? I've been told by friends that I shouldn't miss it. Anyone else experienced it recently? Thanks :)
I'm staying in a hotel in Burgos as having 2 rest days. I need a new credential as my other one is full. Where can I get one? I can't find the pilgrim info office. I've looked around the cathedral square as I was told it was there. Any help would be great. Thanks :)
If you're looking for albergue in Zubiri I can highly recommend Suseia. It's like home from home. Had an amazing dinner & brekkie. Owner and staff were friendly and really helpful. Has everything you need :)
Day 2 - in St Jean Pied de Port having an easy day before I begin my walk tomorrow. I stayed in a lovely albergue called Beilari with 4 bunk beds per room. As I arrived late the only bed left was on the top bunk! Careful what you wish for because that's the one thing I felt resistant to &...
I'm doing final backpack packing & have last minute question. Rain trousers, rain jacket, & backpack raincover OR rain jacket/windbreaker & poncho. Not sure how comfy rain trousers are to walk in. Am thinking poncho is quick & easy. Any help much appreciated. Leave for airport in 3 hours! :)
1 more sleep & my adventure begins. Tomorrow I arrive in SJPDP. I'm ready! Feeling excited about the journey ahead and I surrender to whatever unfolds physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually. It feels like a rite of passage & I know that I will never be the same again. Looking forward to...
Hello everyone,
As the forum is an open and trusting space, I feel to share something that i'm sitting with at the moment. I've woken up the past few days feeling anxious about walking the Camino as I feel unprepared and wonder if i've left it too late. I arrive in SJPDP next Monday! I bought...
Hello everyone, I'm looking to buy a Macabi, or other brand, hiking skirt urgently. I leave London Fri 2/6. I've been to a few stores and none of them have suitable skirts. The forum has provided magic for me before so thought i'd give it another go :D
With only 12 days to go until I leave for SJPdP I bought my trail shoes today! Meindl Respond GTX. Hope they're okay! Felt comfortable. I've read loads on the forum and elsewhere about Macabi skirts. At this late stage it'll cost me over 130GBP to get it to London before I leave. Are there any...
Hello everyone,
I have decided to begin my solo pilgrimage from SJPP on Tues 6 June. Am feeling excited, and yet nervous. I have done no training, and have had severe back pain for 7 days due to a 23hr flight from Australia to London. I begin the Camino with basic fitness but haven't walked long...
Moving from Australia back to London next week and to honour a new beginning i'm walking my first Camino (CF) early June 2017. Excited...and a little nervous!
I'm planning to walk Camino for 1st time starting in SJPdP early June. I'm travelling from London & was wondering if there is a 'best' day to arrive in SJPdP to begin next day. Any other advice on place to stay in SJPdP would be welcome. Many thanks :)
