I have read several posts about a GREAT Albergue in Maneru ( just after Puenta de la Reina).
I have noticed that there are two or three different ones in that small town.
I’m wondering if anyone who has stayed in that town can let me know which one they felt was special?
You can find many private Albergue that offer single/double rooms with your own bath and be among fellow pilgrims
Try Hostals too
I just did SJPDP to Leon in July 2017 and I will look for my list that had single ( or double rooms that you stay in as a single and pay more) if you wish

Dear Amy:
I am 53 years old and I walked the Camino Frances in 2015. I formed life long friendships with 6 Aussies and 2 Americans
We talk and we have visited each other

Wow! I walked the entire Camino Frances in August 2015.
I think we walk 2 different Caminos! Some of what you say, I can relate too , but much I can't.
I used my Spanish daily. I also spoke English but I got so good practising my language skills
I found such beauty is the simple plants and...
I walked the Frances route in late August to September last year.
For those who have started in mid May, what typical weather can be expected? I am doing it again this year
DO IT!
I went alone and am so thrilled I did
You don't need Spanish to hike the Camino.
I would book Orisson for the first night. It eases the Pyrenees crossing and you can meet lots of people that first night
I LOVED READING YOUR POST!!!
I returned to Canada on October 6 and I am going again this year too but not sure if August 25 like this year or earlier

I have to say that one of my favourite Albergues was Albergue Maralotx in Cirauqui. It is about 7 Km past Puente la Reina. The town of Cirauqui is at the top of a large hill and the Albergue is across from the church in the square.
I have included some photos taken from the entrance of the...
THANK YOU grayland and the sisters for your hard work! I was deeply touched by that service in the church in Sahagun! I was deeply moved when I discovered that the nuns were from the order of San Augustin. My late father's name was Augustine. I did palliative care for him until the end of his...
