I wonder if this is related to your earlier shoe issues and the blisters on the side of your feet. Perhaps trying to avoid the blister pain led to you subconsciously change your walking gait which has stressed your muscles.

Definitely better and cheaper than US healthcare but the evac insurance covers stuff like needing a helicopter to bring you to a hospital (some countries like NZ don't charge for this, even for tourists). And then getting you home if you aren't ambulatory and/or can't sit in a regular coach seat...

Don't beat yourself up for not being able to spot them during an arrival inspection. They are so tiny and can literally be anywhere you can fit the edge of a credit card (I once found a nymph crawling out of a crack on my Kindle!). You will go crazy trying to prove a negative.

Also a good idea to protect electronics that can't be washed or dried. Years ago I found a nymph crawling out of a crack in my Kindle. I now keep it in a Ziploc bag at all times.
