Re: Re: Re: Class of 2013
Walked the Camino once and loved it so much I'm leave to do it sain in 27 days , watched the movie The Way twice and disliked it both times. Takes all sorts...
If you plan to stay in albergue, you'll need that "passport thing" called a credential. There's no obligation to get the compostella at the end of your journey. Maybe I'll see you there.
Preparing for your first camino is an incredible adventure. Read up, break in your shoes, test your pack and then, just enjoy the ride. Maybe I'll see you there as I should rejoin the Camino frances at Puente La Reina around September 15.
Re: Re: Camino in September 2013
Our paths will most likely cross as I should be joining the Camino Frances in Puente La Reina from the Aragones at the same time you get there. My name is Geneviève.
Dear, you're not the first gay pilgrim but you are the first self-appointed one. Believe me when I say that the gay part will not pose any problem. The self-aggrandizing and the preaching will, though.
You'll be just fine by May. Of course you need to expect a few days of rain alonf the trail but you will also have your spring flowers...Look at my Youtube video topick yourself up. I walked from May 13 to June 19
Hello, I'm Gen from Montréal :D Welcome to the forum. Did you get your credential yesterday from the Association Du Québec à Compostelle? It was a nice ceremony. May is gorgeous on the Camino. Enjoy!
Yes, I was able to complete the Camino in May-June 2011 and I'm going back this September. I walked between 17 and 34 km every day. The only thing that prevented me from walking was blisters, not fibromylagia. I was not hurting any more or less than any other pilgrim. I walked with 2 sticks and...
I can understand your fears. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia at 33. When I decided to walk the Camino, my biggest fear was what I would do if I had one of my onset that cripples me and forces me to stay in bed for 2 days... Well, it never happened and I had never felt so strong than I did...
I'm leaving Montreal on the same day but I'll be starting my Camino in Oloron Ste-Marie so you'll be a few days ahead. You never know, our paths may cross. I'll have a forum badge on my pack so keep an eye out.
There are direct flights from Santiago to Paris (Charles-de-Gaulle and Orly). In 2011 I paid 65$ but this year it's around 90$. It takes 90 minutes. Check kayak.com for prices.
Enjoy your travels. (only 7 1/2 months to go)
I'll keep a look out for you. I'll be coming from rhe Camino Aragones but should rejoin the CF around Sept 16. This time, I'll definitely put a forum badge on my bag, along with a Québec flag
I got my tickets!
I posted back in 2011, after my first camino, my plans to go back either in May or September (see the 4th post). Well, now it's decided: I'll be leaving Montréal for Paris-Pau-Oloron on September 5. I have 46 days to walk from Oloron to Fisterra before talking a flight back...
Bonjour, Waterlight,
I'll be walking the Camino at the same time. Since this is my second Camino, I'll walk from Florin-Ste-Marie on the Arles Way to Puente La Reina and then to Santiago. I'll watch out for you!

Search kayak.com for prices. Last June, I booked a direct flight to Paris from Santiago for 68$ US. Flew into Paris at 8 pm, slept at à Formule 1 for 28 Euros (free shuttle) and caught my 11 o'clock flight home the next morning after a good night sleep.
