Yes, indeed, the Norte is my favorite. I see that you visited Playa De Xakoneta also. Wasn't that a lovely place! The beauty of the Norte and wonderful local people I get to meet along the way always pull me back to the same route. This time, I really tried to walk another route but at the...
Oh David, you are so kind. I walked Ingles last fall, so I have a few places I liked, but new to do Mar. This is very helpful. Thank you! There were two hotels I stayed last year, but not listed on your list are:
"Hotel Gran of Ferrol" and "Hotel Crisol de Las Rias" in Miño. Hotel Crisol...
Hello,
Yes, Camino Ingles would be a good one for your granddaughter. It's mostly flat and lovely. I walked last year and uploaded my days to this forum. If you like, you may search the below title. Ingles is toward the last a few days because I walked it in 4 days.
Live from Camino del...
After changing my mind so many times about which one, finally decided to walk from Bilbao to Santiago via Camino do Mar, then Camino Ingles. Starting on March 1st so it will be early and cold, but I am so looking forward to it. It doesn't appear too many people are walking in March so, all...
Hi Nigel,
I just walked Norte via Ingles. I had posted photos and daily stories. Many kind people on this forum read my humble post and cheered me on. That made me feel like I was walking with a big Camino family. Don't feel alone because we will be thinking of you. Mera
I just walked the Norte. Many albergues I passed by were already closed. Many small hotels I stayed said that they would be closing for the winter. Many bars went out of the business after being hit by the pandemic. You will have to carry extra food and really warm clothes (or even a...
Thanks! It's my first laugh of the day since yesterday. I am here at the Madrid airport. My first time flying Iberian Airlines, their online process was very annoying or impossible. I was beginning to think either they are still using DOS programming language or the web designer is from the...
Oh as an added bonus, the Holy Year of 2021 is extended till 2022. Whoever completes walking the Camino during the Holy Year gets a total parden of all sins that he or she ever commited. The last Holy Year was in 2010, and the next one will be in 2027, 2032 ... so on. Please don't think that...
Welcome! I just finished Camino del Norte via Camino Ingles. I switched to Ingles after arriving at Ribadeo because from there on it's walking inland all the way. Blisters don't have to happen. I haven't gotten a blister during my last 6 Caminos. I believe each person has to find out what...
Once my daughter lost her cell phone. I went to the police station thinking that I can easily find it should they had it. To my big surprise they had boxes and boxes of cell phones, and furthermore boxes and boxes of keys. I wondered how those pilgrims managed when they got home.
Buen Camino! I am hoping to do it in October. I already postponed twice. El Norte is my favorite. BTY, there is a great Vietnamese restaurant within a block from the Biarritz Train Station, that is if you enjoy Vietnamese food.
I just completed the Norte. It has everything you are looking for and more. The beauty makes your spirit high and heart tender. Much less crowded than the CF. Whichever you choose I wish you a Buen Camino.
