Thanks Jan, I'm grappling with the same decision as Maree. Everything I'm reading is pointing me towards the Norte and Primitivo route in 2022. I like the idea of spending a month on the coast and in the mountains.
Hi Linda,
I cycled from SJPDP last year, between Burgos and Fromista I used the track because it was as wide as a road anyway, it was fairly flat and I didn't think there was a road alternative. The huge hill after Castrojeriz is a great experience with the best views on the Camino. I then...
Hi Shep, about this time last year I was collapsing in Zubiri. So many memories and a great time of year for it. I saw Aussies at least every second day, so plenty of mates around. Good luck, M !
Whatever shoes you are going to wear - start wearing them in now for a May pilgrimage. No need for fancy hiking boots, but its probably a matter of personal choice. I saw so many brand new hiking boots being thrown away in the albergues and pilgrims finishing their walk in crocs, flip flops...
Hi Salty,
Jenny267 and I just completed the Camino Frances in September 2017 and we left separate detailed accounts of our travels in the biking section of this forum. You might like to take a look for some tips. Sounds like you are a more experienced cyclist than me, so you would enjoy the...
Hi Alan, I will also be leaving SJPDP on 16 Sept and I am trying to arrange a taxi share on 15 Sept from Biarritz to SJPDP at about 2pm. Please le me know if you are interested.
Thanks
Mark from Sydney

Hi RaRa,
Good advice above and see my recent thread in biking the Camino on this site where Jenny and others have discussed bike hire, etc. We're all biking in September starting either in St Jean or Pamplona and ending up in Santiago. At this stage bicigrino seems like the best bike hire...
Hi RaRa, I'm hoping to do the Camino Frances in September on a bike which is about 800km over 2 weeks and the most popular Camino route for walkers and bikers. Not sure about the Portugal Camino, probably depends on where you start. If you are first timers like Jenny and I, the Frances seems...
Hope to see you all along the way, not sure of my start date yet, but it will be sometime in early to mid September. I'll be one of those evil pilgrims on a bike, so I promise to ring my bell and get the first round of drinks at the bar!
