Has anyone recently used the Prepaid Vodafone Tourist Sim 60 min talk ( including international) + 1 Gb data -30days , @15euro
I have previously had a Hits Mobile which used the Vodafone network, the coverage was good incl data, but the sim expired and I can't be bothered with the hassle to...

Standard European power sockets which provide 220 VAC @ 50-60 Hz, most modern power packs are capable of operating over a vast range of input voltages ie 110 to 250 VAC @ 50-60 Hz.
Be wary if you are using American power packs, some American manufacturers refuse to provide universal power...
The Altus is a great poncho, but is not suitable for the larger framed pilgrim, due to the wet May some stores in Pamplona had sold out of ponchos, luckily I found a suitable XL alternative, one of two left in stock
If you want data 3G/4G then a local sim is the only economical option, there is no cheap roaming option for data, in Spain I plan to use http://www.mobipassport.com.au/ about $25 for 1Gb month. And free 5 min calls to Aust landlines.
Hola Colin
Your post was not there when before I posted my reply:). I have purchased my sim with internet bolt on for my iPhone for my camino in June this year, have you used the service in Spain? If so, how did you find it, was it easy to top up in Spain?
I purchased a Spain Sim in Australia from http://www.mobipassport.com.au/. The Spanish service provider is Hits Mobil which use the Vodafone network, the best feature of this Sim is that you can make free 5 minute calls to Australian landlines and localal call rates are 0.08 euro p/m
Ditto on the sharp knife, most Albergue kitchens have knives, almost none have sharp knives!
Wine drinkers add a cork screw, Spain hasn't discovered screw to wine bottles as yet:)
Voltaren, I would not worry packing any, farmacias are the most common store along the Camino and everything...
For my next Camino I have ordered an Altus poncho the type that goes over the backpack.
After my Camino I will travel to Vietnam (rainy season) but I won't be backpacking, can the poncho still be used without a backpack (or hunchback) or should I consider a normal poncho? I initially opted...
I am surprised that a KIWIfamily would consider an alternate to good NZ wool except maybe better Australian wool:). May main preference was based on how quickly a garment can be dried after its daily hand wash. I personally find wool to be itchy but then I haven't tried the premium end of the...
I have seen many unhappy pilgrims who chose light weight sports trainers (non goretex) they had a simple solution when Mother Nature rained in their parade, they put plastic bags over their socks to try to keep their feet dry, I was very happy to be wearing goretex hiking foot ware. This year I...
I purchased my first silk liner in Leon from decathlon it was very reasonably priced, I have used it for several caminos and loved it. I have just ordered a second from Vietnam on eBay $20 delivered:) sounds promising , XL wide model with pillow pocket and double stitching, it is my plan to take...
I wore the same boots for two caminos and a little bit of training, they died about 100 km before Santiago they were so comfy like an old glove, but the sprung a leaks that sucked in water from even the lightest rain shower. Total km I estimate 2000+ they had a vibram sole, they were an...
I used Ekit last year and the year before, mainly because I was travelling across Europe as well, this time I am in Spain almost all the time except for my arrival and departure through Paris
The Vodafone option from the Australia seller states that calls under 5 minutes to Australian...
There are some very good Spanish SIM deals available for advance purchase in Australia .
The two main competitors Mobipassport and Prepaidsimcard use the Vodafone and Orange networks.
Their plans are not identical and therefore difficult to compare. But for me the deciding factor may be...
Being from Australia we have the advantage of preparing for a summer Camino in the summer, we can use the summer gear that we have purchased for the Camino on our training walks. It has rarely been under 25 degC during any of my walks
Your not an orphan ( your not alone ).
I have just ordered a Altus poncho to pickup when I arrive in Pamplona . This will be my fourth Camino and I am more nervous about the weather than the previous three years. I have been told it can change quickly, I just hope it is for the better.
