Hi all,
I am trying to do some route planning for the Camino. Starting on the Frances, San Salvador and Primitivo. I have used GaiaGPS in the past for hiking in the US. I have not found a good layer for doing snap-to-trail route planning. I assume I'm using the wrong layer - but what layer...
We are hiking the Camino Frances this spring and would like to be able use our cell phones. Xfinity says we will lose our credit on our iphones if we get sim cards in Spain (we are still paying off the devices). The international travel plan thru Xfinity is $10/day. Will we be able to use our...
Hello! I couldn’t find a category that seemed to fit this topic, so I am posting to this forum. Sorry if it’s the wrong forum.
The last time I walked the CF, I had an app that guided me wonderfully along the Camino. It showed my position on the map of the CF and once saved me from making a...
Hello everyone: I'm walking the Camino Frances in June 2023 ... my first time on a camino and I'm really looking forward to my pilgrimage. I have an iphone 8 and wondering whether anyone can suggest an App to use for booking albergues etc.? Cheers from Winnipeg, Canada!
I'm doing the Portuguese Camino from Lisbon and then from Santiago to Muxia in July and August 2023. During my walk I will require about 10 Gb per month internet connection. To save weight, I prefer to only buy a simcard (to be used in both Portugal and Spain) and insert it in my current dual...

I am probably going to use Polarsteps as an easy way to keep a photo journal and keep friends and family posted on my whereabouts without getting onto social media every day. That way I can do a semi-digital detox and also spend less time organizing and printing photos later, too. I have two...
Who is behind Gronze.com? This resource is likely the most often mentioned on this forum. I’m thinking it’s time to do a shout out to the developers who keep it up to date year after year.
I live in the US and will be walking the Via de la Plata with an iPhone 14 (only eSim) and was looking for recommendations from people who have used an eSim on the Camino. An eSim provider that provides more than data - talk, text and data. I do not need any comments or info on physical Sims...
I'm looking for an app that I can put on my iPhone to edit gpx tracks while I am in Spain. I specifically need an app that will preserve waypoints in the track I am editing.
I plan to record my track on Wikiloc as I am walking, and will be adding photos and waypoints as I go. At the end of the...
Hi all, please move if there is a better place for this question.
I have downloaded Organic maps to my iPhone 12 and have also downloaded the Dutch fraternity maps and Rayyrosa maps to ‘files’ on my phone.
However I am unable to bring up the box asking ‘which app would you like to open the file...
Planning Camino for April / May and would like help in determining which cell phone plan to use. My choices:
1. Purchase international phone plan in U.S. utilizing the T-Mobile network. I would be able to use for unlimited data, talk and text for 12 cents per minute. If anyone has used this...
My husband and I will be walking in France and Spain for 3 months.... March till June Just wondering which Simcard would be best. Struggling to find one that gives us the data plus the ability to keep the same phone number. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.
It is still a Beta version but entirely functional, available for both, Apple IOS and Android.
(It is all in Spanish but you can open www.gronze.com with Google translate)
Btw: Gronze also has a forum for members (free) without ads and posts reflect Spanish views that can be very interesting
I am totally non tech savy, so I am struggling with most of this! I have just downloaded maps.me and don't even know what to download! Do I download the whole map of Spain? How do I find out where the camino routes (in my case the Olvidado) are?
Sorry I am light years behind you guys in all...
Hi can anyone tell me what the differance and meaning is if listing has a green house, or black house next to listing in gronze please. Thanks in advance
Has anyone used Strava heat maps to navigate on VdlP? I'm starting in Sevilla. I will find albergues, etc. with Gerald Kelly's guide. The heat maps can tell me where I am, but do the paths most traveled pertain to the Camino? It worked for me on the Gr 5 in Alsace. Just wondering?
