Hello there,

Well do to work restraints I am only alloted a 15 maybe able to push it to 17 days on the Camino, averaging around 22-26 km per day. It will be my 40th birthday present to myself and I want to get what I can in. So my question is where can I start to still get my Compostela. Obviously, it's my first time and I want to be able to experience the true pilgrimage, including staying at the hostels. Any help is appreciated.

You only have to walk at least 100km to qualify for the Compostela. 4 or 5 days at the rate you suggest. If you want to walk for two weeks you have plenty of choice. Leon or Astorga on the Camino Frances? Oviedo for the Primitivo? - my personal favourite. Porto to walk the Portugues? Lots of options. Whichever you choose enjoy!

Hi ,it's about 300 km from Leon so that is doable. You can also begin in Ponferrada and go to Finisterre , that's about the same distance.
Wish you well and a Buen Camino, Peter.

Welcome Vwdorian, Leon is a good starting point and a beautiful place to have a look around if you have time before you start walking. Leon is typically a 14 day walk so that would give you a few days of a buffer if you wanted to take a rest day. To be really safe you could start in Astorga, (12 days to Santiago) and then have a few days to enjoy the beautiful city of Santiago or as others have said, continue to Finisterre or Muxia.
Whatever you decide have a Buen Camino.
