When walking in Spain, I always send a box or small suitcase on to Ivar when I arrive in Spain. This is for "after Camino" clothes as we usually hang around Europe for a bit after arriving in Santiago.

Does anyone have experience or a suggestion as to how this would be handled in Rome? I am not sure of a solid date of arrival in Rome...so a hotel may not be an easy choice.
I would appreciate any suggestions.

A second question would be regarding the Holy Door at St. Peters. I read somewhere that a reservation was required to walk through. It seemed that the date and actual time was necessary.
Is this a fact....and where and how is this reservation made?

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thanks Jill....that explained it completely.
Can I add, it's well worth registering and going through the entire route to the Holy Door from Castel D'Angelo.
I completed the VF this week, had pre-registered from home, and just completed my date request when I knew when I would arrive. However I helped some other pilgrims to register 'on the way' and it was an easy process.

Also regarding 'posting on' I stayed at

Can anyone recommend a place to stay in Jougne, the end of the last stage in France? Thanks. Karl
