Greetings everyone! I'm planning on doing a portion of the Camino (starting in St Jean Pied-de-Port) in late June/early July. I'm a 34 year old woman and will be walking it alone. I'm planning on going slowly and enjoying the journey instead of worrying about the destination, and I hope to do a bit of writing and drawing on the way. I'm both nervous and excited about doing this on my own, but I'm also hoping that I'll meet some interesting souls and find some company along the way.

I welcome any suggestions on routes, places to stay, things to see...etc etc.

:D

Good idea to take it slow, Mel. If I may make some suggestions, some good spots for sitting down to draw the view would be:

1. the Puente Magdalena in Pamplona
2. the approach to Alto de Perdon
3. Eunate
4. the approach towards Cirauqui
5. That tiny arch of stones near the cairns near La Ventosa, if it's still there
6. view from Alto de Mostelares towards Palencia
7. the hobbit houses of the Meseta
8. the yard at the back of the CSJ refugio in Rabanal
9. the hodgepodge of Manjarin
10. Villafranca del Bierzo
11. the view of the Samos monastery from the hill

I'm sure the others in this forum have their 'pet' spots that are memorable to them.

A million thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely take this list with me!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

New user here. Hello to you all. New to the forum but not to the Camino. I was told about this Forum whilst I walking the lovely scenic 'Camino Norte'. I'm planning walking another in June.
Hi, A couple years ago I flew into Geneva and took a train to Laussane to begin my Francigena. Next year I would like to fly into Geneva and walk the south side - France into Aigle, Switzerland...
