I arrive Biarritz at 18.45 on 18th April .. buses and trains aren’t available until 06.40 on 19th so where is best to stay … Biarritz or Bayonne?

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
And I would add, I’d get a later train to SJPP and enjoy a few hours strolling in Bayonne. It’s a delightful basque town. There’s usually a train that leaves around 12.30 and takes a little over an hour.

I also find SJPP charming but it’s more a village than a town so you don’t need a lot of time to check in, go to the pilgrims office, walk around the town, eat, soak up the vibe etc. And if you’re there too early it’s likely you won’t be able to check in to your accommodation. Enjoy 😎

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.

I should have said… I intend I go to pilgrim office and hit the walk. Maybe an hour looking around but that’s it. 😂

Well, even more reason to stay in Bayonne, rather than Biarritz, if you are taking a 6.40am train from Bayonne to SJPP.

Or stay two days so you can see BOTH Biarritz AND Bayonne!

New user here. Hello to you all. New to the forum but not to the Camino. I was told about this Forum whilst I walking the lovely scenic 'Camino Norte'. I'm planning walking another in June.
Hi, A couple years ago I flew into Geneva and took a train to Laussane to begin my Francigena. Next year I would like to fly into Geneva and walk the south side - France into Aigle, Switzerland...
