Looking for suggestions for accommodation in Lisbon. Not super pricey, easy access to train stations and interesting sights, safe for a single traveller

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Anywhere in the “downtown” or tourist area is close to train stations, near interesting sites, and generally safe. Booking.com is your friend there. For more specific recommendations, you might want to say how long you are staying, what season, and how much you want to spend. There are some fabulous and expensive hotels and very convenient hostel bunk rooms, but which you would like really depends on what you are looking for.

To be more specific, the most central and convenient area is known as Baixa, and the adjacent neighbourhoods of Chiado and Alfama are also very popular, so any of these would be a good choice for accommodation.

Lisbon doesn’t have a main, central train station. If you’re heading north the stations where trains leave from are Santa Apolónia and Oriente, both accessible by metro from the centre. Trains to Cascais leave from Cais do Sodre station and trains to Sintra leave from Rossio station, which are both central, but limited.

Stayed at Hotel Inn Rossio last month. 2* and close to the Rossio Station and Rossio Square. Chosen mainly as it was near the terminus for Electro 28 - the iconic tram that covers most of central Lisbon. Also close to Rua Augusta. Central and clean. Didn't order breakfast/meals as there are many alternatives close by.

There is a hostel at the train station (https://www.destinationhostels.com/lisbon-destination-hostel/). They offer private rooms ( and cheaper beds in a dormitory). Perfect location and super price. They also offer fun activities like free walking tours and fado evenings. I stayed there and would return there at any time.

We stayed here, good location for getting around on foot. But be prepared for the hills. ;)

Rua da Mãe de Água, 16-20, Santo Antonio, 1250-156 Lisbon

We stayed at Zuzabed bnb - just up from the Rossio train station in the Chiado district. Excellent location and great breakfast. Luis is very welcoming and helpful.
