Air travel from Santiago back to Paris

(5/28-7/4, 2012) Camino Frances - SJPP to Santiago
(7/22-8/2, 2013) Camino Finesterra
(?) Camino Le Puy
I know there was information somewhere on this, but I can't recall the airline. I think someone said it was about $100. Also, can I book the flight the same day since right now I am not sure if I will want to continue on to Finesterra/Muxia or what day I will be ready to head back to Paris? If booking the same day can I expect to pay more? Thank you! - M

Hi M

It's Vueling Airlines. It runs a service from Santiago to Paris at certain times of year, and if I remember your approximate dates correctly it should be running then. I don't think it runs every day, though. On the other days you have to change in Barcelona and fly into Paris Orly rather than CDG.

You can book on Vueling's website or on Expedia etc. It appears as Iberia on Expedia, but it's not - it's Vueling.

I'd always try to book at least a few days in advance. You're more likely to get a bargain the earlier you book and the more flexible with dates you can be. I think some websites won't let you book on the day of travel, but there are lots of travel agents in Santiago as well.

Glad your planning is going so well. I don't think you'll regret staying at Orisson. Keep your blog going as well!

Edit: It's around 100 Euros rather than dollars, but it depends on the date. It can be more or less.

Buen Camino!

I just booked a flight last night on Vueling for Oct 22, 2912 to go from SDC to Paris direct. The total cost was 67 euros (after paying fees for a bag, to select my seat, to pay by credit card). I used Kayak to search for flights and once I selected the flight it sent me directly to Vuehling's site. It was easy.
