Hi!!

After being in Calzada del Coto I registered in another albergue: Domus Dei in Ponferrada. I will be there from May 1 to 15.

I liked Calzada del Coto (and I hope that the pilgrims also liked it there!). One of the people from the village invited us to his wine cellar. An incredible wine and chorizo !!

Now I am starting to gather information about the different alternatives that you find in Ponferrada (Camino de Invierno and Carracedo del Monasterio).

You know ... if someone wants to pay a visit ... I'll always be ready for a beer and a "pulpo a la gallega" !! ;)

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
are you sure this albergue is in ponferrada and you are not volunteering for the albergue in foncebadon?

camino de invierno is all waymarked, has a dedicated thread here (and the following pilgrims) and an english guide in the resources.

I've not yet heard that the alternative via carracedo is waymarked. but it would be useful info if someone knows.

Yeah!! Ponferrada for sure!! :)

If I have the time I will walk that sector to Carracedo, but I doubt I will. I intend to go to Astorga and walk from there to Ponferrada. Let's see if I have the time to walk also Ponferrada-Carracedo-Ponferrada.
