hi All,

planning to start camino in couple of days. But Im not sure, hows with albergues on the way in April. Are they all open, closed? is there actualy a lot of people on the way? is it the same situation as in summer, that you need to start at 5am and put your bag close to entrance and no chance to get bet afternoon? or is it easier in April?

thanks, Denis

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
hi Catherine!

we are planing to walk part of coast way, after than turning direction Ponte de lima.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Will you be walking during Easter. I know some of the albergues do not open until 1pm (Municipal) but private ones should be fine

perfekt, thanks, I was afraiding that it will be same as in summer.... it was like madness - i spend couple of nights sleeping only in bag outside.

The high season on the Portugues is from April till late Oct, but it's nothing like the French way, no big rush. All the municipal albergues are open. I walked the Central way in late Apr-bebining of May, was busy as there were holidays but never had trouble finding a place to stay. Walked the Coastal in Jan, there were mostly municipal ones open at that time but in Apr the private ones should be open, and the campings as well - most of them have discounts for pilgrims. The full list albergues on the Central: http://www.vialusitana.org/caminho-portugues/albergues/ There will be people but no need to start at 5am :) You'll be fine! Bom Caminho! :)
