Hi everyone,

Now I have settled on Pamplona as a starting point for my camino, I'd love some recommendations for accommodation to start my walk from? I plan to start walking on the 25 September!!

I have stayed at the German Albergue "Paderborn". Many Pilgrims go to Pension Corazon Puro. There website is Corazonpuro.es, they will pick you up at the train or bus station, put you up for the night, feed you dinner and breakfast and get you on your way for the next day. The website Gronze.com lists seven places in Pamplona with descriptions and cost. Go to Gronze site, select Frances route and click on third day. Under Pamplona you will find the list.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
I like to stay at the albergue at Zariquiegui. 11.3k from Pamploma at the foot of the Alto del Perdon it gives you a chance to climb it while still fresh and also the chance to see a wonderful dawn.

Casa Paderborn, a German run albergue with a warm welcome.

Paderborn is a lovely, well-run albergue. However, if you will be arriving late afternoon then there might not be space for you. We leave from Paris at 07.28 on Aug 20th, arriving at Hendaye at 13.15. We then get the 15.55 from Irun to arrive in Pamplona at 17.52. We've booked bunks (using Booking.com) in Hostal Ciudedela 7 which looks fine at 16 euros each. Paderborn is on the eastern outskirts of the town, so maybe a bit of a hike when you're not sure of a place.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Joe:
Where exactly (nearest village) is Pension Corazon Puro located? I'm trying to find it on my map. Thanks

Since Joe may not be available right now I will answer your question. Here is the Corazon Puro web site. They will meet you in Pamplona, host you at their pension in Viscarret/Biskarreta, and transfer you next morning to either Roncesvalles or SJPdP as you wish. Friendly hosts, good food and nice twin bedded rooms. Perfect! I stayed with them last October on my way down to Zubiri and it was a true pleasure.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Thank you Margaret.
