Time of past OR future Camino
June (2013)
Hi everyone,
The rucksack is packed, after 4 attempts, and the Forum badge is sewn on. I've had three successful 15 kilometre walks this week; Vaseline and double layered socks are working well. Also, the blog is up and working - http://brendancamino.wordpress.com
Tony and I are flying from Stansted to Biarritz on 12th June 2013, then staying at L'Esprit du Chemin that night and off towards Orisson on 13th, where we are staying that night - we're breaking ourselves in easy and not attempting to get to Roncevaux in one day. I see that there are a few Forum members setting out around this time and look forward to meeting you along the Way. Also, the crash course in Spanish is still on track.
Buen Camino,

Hi Brendan,
Sounds like you are ready. Good Luck!

If your rucksack is packed so tight that there isn't room for another pair of socks, consider these options:
1) Get a bigger rucksack.... Not recommended. This just allows you to take too much stuff. Your rucksack loaded, but lacking water or food should be about 8 kg.

2) Examine each item carefully and ask yourself "Do I really need this?" Be liberal in throwing items out.

3) Find a ditti-bag in an outdoor store that you can attach to the outside of your rucksack. Carry your lunch, water and guide book here.

4) Forget all the advice, particularly if it starts with "You should..." and have a blast. There will be mornings when you feel like a teenager again, and evenings when you can't lift a muscle.

Buen Camino,
David, Victoria, Canada
