Hello Pilgrims!

I'm starting out on my first Camino next Wednesday! Starting from Irun and intending to walk to Fisterra at a fairly leisurely pace. I will be staying at the Municipal Albergue on the Tuesday night before setting out for what seems to be a gruelling first day on the 'Alpinista'. Is anyone else starting then?

Any advice on whether to pack gloves and thermal leggings at this time of year?

Happy travelling y Buen Camino!

I am also starting on my first Camino but from StJPdP on the 9th and should be in Pamplona on the 12th, one day after you. You may see me. I will be wearing a bright orange jacket/green pack.

Sara you might not need thermal leggings but hat & gloves should be in your backpack, Gloves are great in damp/cool mornings. Enjoy your walk; it's great, very exciting getting boats etc.

Buen Camino.

Hi Sara, thats a coincidence, my wife and I are also arriving at the Albergue de Peregrinos on Tuesday night,a little late from Paris, however the hosts assured us they will be open at 20.30. We plan to only walk to Albergue de Peregrinos Santa Ana about 16km,on wednesday, then on to San Sebastian on Thursday. We will look forward to meeting you in Irun,we are a couple of Kiwi/Aussies.

Great. I'll look out for you- I've got a purple pack. Have a good journey.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Thank you. I'll put the gloves back in the pack! I was hoping to keep my pack to 7kg max but I can't see what else to take out! Time will tell!

I'll keep an eye out for you. I'm walking the de Norte. Very excited and a bit apprehensive!

I know exactly how you are feeling. I leave today and I cannot sit still. Thinking I am bringing too much, not trained enough, will I make the connection...aargh! Just get me there already!
