Not my first Camino, but my first attempt to record start date on calendar.

Whew, 3rd time is a charm....finally got it on there in the right place. Plan to walk the Valcarlos route this time and going all the way to Finisterre is a definite maybe.

I like the definite maybe. That is how we always feel before setting out on a Camino.

Planning to take the Valcarlos route is a good idea. One never knows if the Napoleon route would be open that early in April.

Buen Camino

I am a first timer. I am leaving next Wednesday for Europe. I arrive in BCN on the 13th then make my way to SJPP to leave on Saturday, 15 April 2017. I hope to meet you or at least tell you to have a Buen Camino. I am nervous but willing to press forward.

I'll be leaving SJPdP on April 15th also. Going to take it slow. Stopping at Orisson if the Napoleon is open, if not stopping in Valcarlos.
Enjoy your Camino!!

Good evening everyone. Like others in this thread, I start walking the CF out of StJPdP next week. Advice please, is it too much of a risk to only take a bag liner at this time of year. I have a lightweight sleeping bag but I'm very tempted to leave it at home and just layer up on clothes if it gets cold in the alberques.

I arrived on the 13th to SJPdP and decided to start my Camino earlier than I had planned. I was injured just before reaching Orrison. They arranged a Taxi to take me down and then around to Roncesvalles. It cost 75 euros. I was lucky in that there was another person who injured her leg too. We split the fare. It is now the 21st. I am in Burgos. I am traveling too fast. If I injure myself again....I have 4 different injuries...I will have to stop and restart next year.

I found my bag liner is one of the most valuable items I have. I only wear two pants and should have left the 3rd pair at home. I have worn only 2 shirts and socks are important and I have yet to get a blister. Two pairs worn at the same time has saved me. Vasoline is important as it Arnica and mix it with a little vicks vapor rub and it softens and helps relieve feet at night. There is Ibuprophine 600 mg here, It works but be careful with it.

I am in Estella, only going to Santo Domingo de la Calzada. Take your time and heal. Hope the best for your Camino!!

No issues with my body. No meds or vaseline. Darn Tough socks are the ticket.
