Plan to start from Burgos sometime in May 2016 and go on to Santiago. Finishing up what we started this year 2015. Will update early in 2016

Planning to leave Barcelona for St Jean, Sun Apr 10. Hope to get there same day via train to Pamplona, but no bus or train timetables out yet and Sillydoll's book says no bus from Pamplona on Sun anyway. Looks like I might have to cab it from Pamplona (ouch!). If anyone seeing this is in similar fix, maybe we can share a taxi...

Edited to add: my name is Deb

So sorry to report I will NOT make it to the Camino in the Spring as planned. I was hit by a car as a pedestrian earlier this month They tell me my broken bones won't be healed enough to carry a backpack by May. GRRRR!! I will live vicariously thru my fellow pilgrims until I am well enough.

I should have known better. Another delay because of upcoming and totally unexpected mastectomy. Thank goodness for mammograms. We are fated not to do this next Camino. I can barely bring myself to read the forum these days because I am so distressed. Maybe in autumn. Please God.

Heart, prayer and hugs going out to you! SY

Your Listed ... I put your starting place as TBD, Let me know when you decide . My first thought would be Logrono , but everything depends on how fast or how capable you are physically. In 2014 I only had 32days , I decided to start in St Jean as I knew I wasn't going to be able to reach Santiago de Compostela in that time frame so I decided to enjoy the trek and not fret over "getting there" but rather enjoy " being there"

Please add me to the list, thank you!

May 22 - from St Jean, possibly Pamplona. I walked from St Jean to Estrella, and then from Burgos to Castrojeriz in 2009. I couldn't find shoes my size in Estrella or in Santander so flew to London thinking I had to abandon. then flew back to Santander and bussed to Burgos before abandoning 2 days later with stress fractures in my feet. I learned a lot from that trip and have some unfinished business to do.

Hi mate, What sort of shoes / inserts did you take with you? Buen Camino.

Hi mate, What sort of shoes / inserts did you take with you? Buen Camino.

It was the same pair of shoes that I used for both Everest Base Camp and Annapurna circuit. The thing is they ended up in the water on the last day. it was then a year before I wore them again and I think the cushioning wasn't great anymore. No inserts used. The problem was also the 18kg bag I was carrying during the walk. I'm a size Euro 48 boot and I couldn't locate them. Bag will be much lighter this time and my shoes sorted out so should hopefully have no issues this time.

Thanks for your reply. Buen Camino
