¡ Atención peregrinos : problemas en Galisteo !

Hi,

I received an email from the Asociación de Amigos del Camino de Santiago de Sevilla informing about some crossing problems on Via de Plata at Galisteo, in the Río Alagón area, after the village de Grimaldo because of discrepancies between private owners and the City council of Galisteo.

More information in the email text in Spanish :

Buen Camino.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Very rough translation

" Of a time for they have been here arriving, post office of pilgrims more and more assiduously referred to problems of passage in the stage to Galisteo, in the zone of the River Alagón more exactly, once surpassed the population of Grimaldo. Disagreements between private proprietors and the City council of Galisteo are repelling negatively in the free transit of the pilgrims and travellers by the Route of the Silver. Originally the transit by the section in litigation between the parts was expeditious for the pilgrims, although the signaling was quite little and confused, nevertheless the situation has gone to worse and at the moment, according to the pilgrims inform to us, cases of deviations of travellers are occurring who, given the high temperatures, the little points of food supply and the extensive thing of the stage, can suppose an important risk. Therefore we recommended to the pilgrims that go well supplied of water for this stage, try not to directly do it from Alconetar to Galisteo while the summer lasts, because they can do night in Grimaldo (where a municipal shelter exists), and before possible problems of step they resort to the competent authorities denouncing the situation as well as to the jacobeas Associations. From this Association they are had been realising managements before the City council of Galisteo and the Friendly Association of the Way of Santiago de Plasencia, people in charge of the situation of in that territory, without to have obtained answer on the other hand to date. We will continue trying to denounce and to solve the subject. Good Way. "

Hi All,

This problem has been discussed before but as my wife and I will be in the on this part of the Via de la Plata in early October I would appreciate updates on wether the Asociación de Amigos del Camino de Santiago de Sevilla is reacting to pilgrims who havnt gone through the green gate or the signage on the gate has changed.

Has anyone a suggestion on an alternative route.

Regards to all,

Kevin
