Hi all,

I am thinking about walking the Camino Primitive in June/July 2018 (you know what they say, the best cure for Camino-homesickness is to plan another one!). I walked the Camino Frances in 2016 and the Camino Portugues in 2017 (just arrived back).

Because of a dodgy left knee I simply cannot, as much as I wish I could and I have tried to, carry a backpack. Thus, I would need to be able transfer my backpack from place to place.

Does anyone know if there options for this along the Camino Primitive?

Thank you, gracias
Katie

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
Correos does but I. E. Albergue in Grado does not allow drop off or pick up. I don't know if other Albergues on the primitivo are the same.
Also please keep in mind p0 the primitivo is difficult enough with healthy limbs...make sure you know your limitations.

Thanks that sounds good. Any other useful advice? How much food is available on the way each day?

Have you found gronze.com yet? It has route planning and facilities for ALL of the routes, including the primitivo. Its in Spanish, but if you access it with Chrome, it will translate it for you. Much of what you are looking for, including every town that has albergues and bars, will be found by wandering the primitivo virtually on this site.
