Bed bugs in books!

Thought this might be of interest:

Bed bugs in books close London library

Shutdown in Northolt comes weeks after the neighbouring central library was found to have the pests in its furnishings

Funny, I always thought that the insects you found in books were called bookworms...

Still, at least the Bed bugs have now found an alternative food source

First I ever heard of it ! Don't they need blood? It'll be plastic gloves and tongs next on the packing list

Given that the pests have been found in the furnishings, it is probably fair to surmise someone carried them there, sat down for a moment and left them behind. Lucky next person who chose that chair!

Bed bugs like to hide in soft furnishings, behind wall hangings, old beautiful stone walls, crevices and apparently also books. Makes sense as they offer a dark tight place to hide on your nightstand so they can ambush you after you drift off to sleep.

I understand that one of the bedbugs favourite books is "Lord of the Fleas" by William Golding.

Cockroaches can also hitchhike on books! Sadly I know this from experience.

They arrived in some books that had been returned.
It was an Ealing library that had them in the furnishings.
Must have given the librarian a shock!

It would appear that the bedbugs are now not only well-fed but also well-read.
As one bed bug said to the other before feasting on its latest "Pilgrim Pastrami".....

"The Camino provides".

They do need blood! Meanwhile the bed bugs learnt to hide in crime novels.

Those bedbugs are very well read. In fact, one of them was the author of "The Vampire's Nemesis"; a New York Times Bestseller...I couldn't put it down.

This is the worst case of bedbugs I have encountered.


Worse than that are bed buffaloes which I encountered in an albergue which I shall not name.
