Hi everyone,

I'm planning to walk the Camino de Santiago this May, specifically the Meseta section from Burgos to Leon.
I'm considering flying into either Lisbon, Madrid, or Barcelona.
Could anyone advise on which of these cities offers the best transportation options to get to Burgos? I'm looking for ease of access, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

Also, any tips on the return journey from Leon to the chosen city would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Madrid is the main ground transport hub in Spain. Both trains and buses radiate from it. You can take an ALSA bus direct to/from Madrid airport and either Leon or Burgos. Cheap and convenient if you do not want to stop over in Madrid itself.

Madrid, walk out of the airport terminal and hop on the Alsa bus outside.

I plan to do the same portion of the Camino, Burgos to Leon this year . For me living near Dublin airport, Santander gives me the option of a midday flight. However I will have to overnight in Santander as there is too little time between air and bus it is only 90 minutes.
I can no longer do early morning flights from Dublin as I did in the past, nor do I like arriving in a strange city near midnight
