Hello,

I am doing this walk for the beauty and I don't feel guilty about taking a bus throught long stretches of highway. I have 35 days from the day I land in Madrid until the day I need to leave from Madrid. I will arrive March 26th. Any thoughts.. How do I get to Le Puy if I decide to start there?

Hi simplywater2

If you want to get to Le Puy, I would arrive in Paris instead of Madrid and take the train there via Leon.

However if that option is not okay for you, then you can either fly to Leon (nearest airport) from Madrid or train via Bayonne or Paris - much depends on your budget

You could probably get some special deals on either flights and/or trains at this time of year too

Regards

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Simplywater2:

Since you are arriving in Madrid on March 26th. I would bus or train to Pamplona and walk the Frances from that point. You can easily complete and might have time to walk to Finisterre.

with the way the weather is going..... I just may do that.

I second that - leaving from Le Puy at this time of the year means you will run into rain and cold weather. Walking from Pamplona with the time you have means you will have plenty of time to enjoy your surroundings and even time to walk out to the coast
