Time of past OR future Camino
Ruta de la plata/Ruta Sanabres from Seville
I am looking to cycle the Ruta de la Plata from Seville then Sanabres to The Compostella in October. A myriad of planning obviously and sensibly needed. Can anyone please advise if it makes sense to book ALL Albergue accommodation in advance of my trip...OR a few stages in advance. I appreciate being the first time of riding this route timings may change as to any circumstances that may arise. Any advice and information would be HUGELY appreciated. Thankyou

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
The most flexibility for the Camino is to book your first night's lodging before you begin the Camino at your starting location. Then each day, evaluate the need to book your lodging for the next night. This allows you the luxury of going with the flow, changing how much or little mileage you want to do each day, adjust for side-trips and rest days.

Booking all nights means you are stuck with a schedule you must keep.

Accommodation should not be an issue in October though you may find that the majority of Albergues on the Plata will not accept bookings.

You may find this site https://www.gronze.com/via-plata helpful for planning purposes it lists all the accommodation available. Only you will know or discover what your daily distances will be.

Thanks Tincatinker. Seen Gronze and it looks a great source of info.

Great advice DaveBugg. I know in my head how many kms I want to ride per day, but we both know how different that becomes once you're on the road, and it can be good days, and bad days. Going to take your advice...book night one and take it from there. Thankyou

Good luck Johnny , l too am starting to cycle from Jerez to SdC on Friday 18/10.
Maybe see you along the route
