I think the best way is by train, travel time is about 3 hours and the price without any discount is cca 30 Euros. Try search here: http://www.voyages-sncf.com/leisure/fr/launch/home/. I don't know anything about coaches in France, though , so try to search for this, too.

The best way is surely the train from Bordeaux to Bayonne and Bayonne to St JPdeP.

I'm getting the train from bordeaux to SJPP for about 30 euros. Takes about 4 hours I think with the change in Bayonne.
