First camino to be August (2019)
Hello to you,
I've been quietly researching and reading now in preparing for my Camino Frances starting next week into September. I will be starting in SJPP but will have to take a bus at some point since I only have 25 days or so in Spain, but hoping it will come together. Thank you much to all of your for all of the information and hello again to you all.
Kelly

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
If your goal is to arrive in Santiago you won't have to take a bus if you start close enough to Santiago to finish in the time that you have. There is no official starting point.

Hello @boll0099!
Welcome to this forum. I'm sure your quiet research has helped to give you confidence as you head out soon on your first Camino. It was an invaluable resource for me on my first Camino in 2015 and has continued for four additional, different routes I have walked since then.
Wishing you a "good walk"!

My recommendation is that you start later on the Camino so you won't have to take a bus. One of the most important parts of all my Camino's was the family I made. If you skip a section you will have to leave them all behind and start over ebbing and flowing with familiar faces. I have had a number of friends who skipped sections and then wondered by they didn't make the relationships that I have. These friends/relationships have brought great joy to me. I am heading out to California tomorrow for a 2016 Camino family reunion.

I totally agree with this, and that's why I suggested starting closer to Santiago to avoid busing.

Hi Kelly, If you really only have 25 days, I suggest you start in Logrono. Following the Brierly Guide book stages, you could be in Santiago on the 25th day. The comments from others regarding making new friends are very true. I am returning this fall for camino # 2 and will be meeting up with 5 "camino amigos" at various stages. Missing the walk up the hill to Orisson and then to Roncesvalles is a shame, but not the end of the world. Pamplona is the only big city you will miss, but there are plenty more, big and small, along the way. 25 days on the camino will be a fantastic experience- GO
