Time of past OR future Camino
july-august 2012, may to june 2013
Hi all
My name is Phil and I am from Edinburgh in Scotland.
My son and I completed the Camino Frances in July/August 2012 and I am returning to do it all over again in May this year.
I am so excited, I'm boring people to death talking about it.
I am also thinking about a longer pilgrimage. Maybe the triangle in Spain. SJPdP to santiago to seville and back up to SJPdP via Madrid. Has anyone ever tried this?

There is nothing boring about the Camino!. Welcome back soon, and perhaps we'll meet along the Great Road this coming May.
Ultreya :!:

This is Fang from Australia. I'M walking the Camino Frances in May/June this year too, first time for me. We might bump into each other and say 'Buen Camino'!

Fang

I'll take my first step towards SdC from Logrono the 25/5.

If you are looking for a longer pilgrimage you could contemplate the Via Francigena and, living in Scotland, go from Home to Rome.

Though I personally don't find the Camino boring, planning for and going on a different pilgrimage you will be not be "boring" people about your return to Spain but starting a new and exciting adventure.

Hi Fang, I'll be there at the same time, walking out of SJPP 4May. I'm from the Sunshine Coast Qld. If all goes well, I plan to be in Logrono on the 12th May for my birthday (60th). I feel so fortunate that I am healthy and I can choose to go on this journey. I'm so aware that there are people who can't go for so many different reasons....so lucky!

I think David(?), the guy with the refreshments trolley on the hill just before Astorga did something similar. He was originally from Barcelona, walked from there to Santiago, then back to Barna via Seville or somewhere else down south! Buen Camino! :D

) Ultrea friend, dont stop...as one sigh on the road says..i have done Camino in april/may 2012,and wnt to do it again one day...dont stop...

Hi Phil,

After having walked the Camino Frances a few times, this was my dream plan for a different, ±1000 km Camino

Lourdes to Pamplona 315 km
(train to Leon)
Leon to Oviedo (el Salvador) 120 km
Oviedo to Lugo (Primitivo) 365 km
Bus to el Ferrol
Ferrol to Santiago (Camino Ingles) 117 km
Santiago to Fistera/Muxia 118 km

I thought I might do it all in one go because flying from South Africa is really costly but I have since walked parts of it - Lourdes to Pamplona, Camino Ingles and to Finisterre. One day I will walk the Salvador, the Primitivo to Lugo then get a bus to Ponferrada and wak to Santiago on the Invierno. One day!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I have just read all of the responses to my original post. God bless you all. It is great to be on somethig online that is positive and encouraging. Thank you all. Unfortunately, I am not starting in sjpdp this time but instead, in pamplona on may 1st. But hey, what an adventure. Wahay!!!

1 May is labor day (workers day) and its a big day in Spain. Many places will be full, transport might be reduced, so plan carefully.
Have a wonderful walk!
