Hello pilgrims!Im gonna start my first Camino this october through the french way and I was wondering does the route gonna have enough pilgrims along the way,and what about the weather in order to pack the right gear.
Thank you in advance!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
@Christina09 :

No worries about lacking for company. It was far from deserted in October of 2012 and absolutely crowded (IMHO) this past October.

My two Fall Caminos could not have been more different for weather. In 2012, cool and lots of wet with few exceptions. In 2017, hot and dry most of the way. And, yet, the same minimal packing list worked just fine for both. "Pack for the climate, dress for the weather." Here's a link to a site where you can plug in a city name and get good historical climate data. Look at max/min temps and precip and you will have a rough guide to compare against your comfort level.

When I did a late winter and my first spring Camino, I used the site and reviewed Pamplona, Burgos, Leon, Astorga, and Santiago. Can't say that I had any surprises....

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I'm sure there will still be plenty of pilgrims along the way. Mornings and evenings can and will be chilly. Prepare for rain and mud. Other then that, enjoy your walk. Peace be with you.

Thank you very much for the information!!

I am also hoping to be on the camino this September/October!:)
I've been researching for a while and I cannot decide which shoes to choose.
I wanted to walk in kind of running shoes, something like on the picture, but now I am afraid of snow and rain. Any tips?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Both times I walked in October and the weather was very nice both times (although TOO DRY last year with the drought in Spain). No snow, not much rain. Trail running shoes were fine here. Buen Camino!

HI Christina my husband I are walking on the 5th October. We are taking rain pants and jacket, and mostly layers. I think the weather on average seems to be cool in the mornings and eveningsbut about 18-20 during the day. Our paths may cross! Buen Camino

Good morning from the US! My daughter and I will be along the CF with you, Saint Jean to Santiago, starting the third week of October. Long time poser and first time doer with the joy of having a grown kid wanting to share the experience with me. Not sure it gets any better.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
