Camino in August 2012 - how hot IS it?

Hi all,

I'm really enjoying reading the wonderful advice and stories on this forum! I will be walking from StJPDP to Burgos in August this year, starting 10th August, about 15 nights. Maybe I'm crazy to be going this time of year, but its the only time I can go and I have been wanting to do this part of the Camino for years. 10 years ago I walked from Leon to Santiago, so I'm kind of doing the first half of the Camino now.

My questions are: how hot does it get? Is there any possibility of rain? Will the route be so crowded that I will have great difficulty getting a bed? Also, what precautions can I take against bedbugs?

Thanks in advance,

KerryAnn,

Look at Falcon's stats, and you'll see a min. of 71 and a max. of 104 in Pamplona over the past many years.
You may check the following general site http://www.climatetemp.info/spain/ which is similarly helpful for rainfall.
You will get a bed with a bit of patience and adaptation.
Check the Forum's "questions asked before" (top of the page) for updated info on bedbugs and how to avoid them.

I'm walking at the moment and the weather has been great. There were a few days of 30-35, buts its a dry heat.

Best, Drew
