Camino Frances, April/May 2019
Greetings, Friends! The bride and I will set off on our first Camino from SJPP on April 15th, along with 3 friends. We all connect back to university days at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins in the late '70s/early '80s. And the bride and I will celebrate our 40th anniversary along the way. Hope to see some of you along the road!

Greetings! I, too, will begin my first Camino from SJPP on April 15th. Going solo and then meeting my bride in Santiago. Hope to meet up with y'all.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
We’ll be looking for you, Mike! Right now at the Denver airport waiting to board our flight to London, then on to Paris. We’ve already experienced some cancelled flights and rebookings just trying to get out of the US! It’s all part of the journey!

Everyone was anticipating a storm like the “bomb cyclone” of a couple of weeks ago, but it was pretty mild. The problems weren’t in CO. Our planes couldn’t leave their cities to come to Denver.

Hope you had a good first day I'm n Larrasoana now, San Nicolas albergue is nice and the Amari market across the street is a great place for a post-walk cervesa or two. Great porch with awesome tunes.

Bueno Camino!

By the time we reached Zubiri last night, all of the albergues were full. We’re finding that because of Holy Week pilgrims, we have no choice but to try to book ahead. Despite the unexpectedness of “no room at the inn”, we stumbled upon an angel! Alb. Suseia is hosted by Sara and Mia, and although we ended up at the hotel on the edge of town, we went back to Suseia for their pilgrim meal. It was amazing, with some Basque specialties you won’t want to miss. If you plan to stay in Zubiri, try to book at Suseia. Happy to recommend Sara and her help as Camino angels!
