Is the stats taken and compiled for those who applied for and received the Certificate? There seems to be a large proportion of others who did the Camino without registering at the end of the walk in Santiago. Are there a set of stats showing the numbers using the albergues as the difficulty or ease of getting a bed seems to be quite a matter of conjecture.
There are the regular contributors to this excellent forum who stated positively that one will always get a bed or a place to stay on the Camino, there are others with horror stories of being turned out when the albergues are full. What is the real situation? I noted that the hospitaleros took a long time registering the long line of people wanting to stay in the albergues. With this set of stats, if compiled, one could work out the accommodation requirements and plan for sufficient beds for those who need them.

Money stolen from bag on bed while sleeping. Estelle municipal hostel. Not a big inconvenience as my passport and credit cards were left.
