Can anyone help me get my paq peregrino from Santiago to Santander?

Time of past OR future Camino
Camino Frances (Sept 2018)
I have hurt myself and can no longer do the Camino.

My bag was sent ahead to Santiago for me to pick up on arrival at the post office.

Could anyone help me get my bag from Santiago to santander (or Madrid) before the 17th September? Correos can only get it to me until the 23rd and I’m already planning on leaving the country before then.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Happy to spend the money.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Sorry to hear that.

The Correos can't/won't hand the baggage to anyone else than you. Only if you would authorize another person to do that but I really don't know what's the procedure for that in Spain.

Why don't you simply take a ride to Santiago and pick it up yourself? You still have at least 2 days.

Wish you luck!

I have done something like this before, but the time frame looks a bit narrow in your case. To authorize another person to pick up something for you at Correos you need to snail mail that person a letter of authorization (in Spanish) and a photocopy of your passport or similar ID document. Armed with that and his/her ID doc that person can then pick up your parcel at the post office.

I am willing to help, but we might cutting it a bit narrow time-wise here, snail mail to me, pick up of parcel, sending parcel to Santander. The best would really be if you take a bus/train to Santiago and pick it up yourself.

it strikes me that KinkyOne and SYates have hit the nail on the head. If you are in Bilbao, as I think I read yesterday, you could take a long train journey, beautiful as you travel through Pais Vasco. Quickest of course would be to fly. So sorry to hear that you can not wait for repair to your injury. The Camino will be there when you can go back.
