The above named chapel was a place where pilgrims rested on a camino from Rome ( and southern France) on their way to Santiago. Has anyone know about this chapel or the camino on which it stands?. I was told , when I visited this chapel, that it was built in the 12th century.......Thanks Paul

PProffitt,
Where and when did this occur?

Below is a map with some of the Saint Philomena chapels in France. Which one did you visit? Innumerable churches and chapels can make the claim that they were a staging post for pilgrims to Rome or Santiago in the Middle Ages. It does not necessarily mean that they stand on a major road that is labelled as a Camino today.

Since the OP said that the chapel:
was a place where pilgrims rested on a camino from Rome ( and southern France) on their way to Santiago
I think we can rule out the locations in the north of France or by Switzerland, or in Belgium. They seem a bit of a detour for someone walking from Rome to Santiago. I think it is a fair assumption that the one shown in the map to the west of Monaco is the one referred to.
