Sunny Christmas greetings from New Zealand (may the storms not come wherever you are!)

Here in Jerusalem there is a wonderful Christmas - the only problem is to decide which one! The Latin Church, better known as Roman Catholics, the Coptic Church, the smaller Protestant communities, and some of the Greeks celebrate on December 25, the rest of the Greeks, the Syriacs, the Jacobites, and the Ethiopians on January 7, the Armenians-also custodians of important relics of Saint James-on January 6, so we have plenty of opportunities to witness the celebrations, should you miss one why there is soon to be another! The streets of the Old City here are decorated, decorations for home sold in the market stalls, trees in all the churches and Christian schools, Santa Claus with skis-no, it never snows enough to ski in Jerusalem we get do a muddy slush once every few years but not really snow, and Christmas day is marked by parades in Jaffa, in Bethlehem, and in Nazareth. Thank goodness no turkey, lamb is the usual holiday fare. So, Merry Christmas to all whenever and where ever you may be.

'Nollaig Chridheil agus Bliadhna Mhath Ur!' from a Scot to all the Camino family. (I've no idea whether the Gaelic translation is right, but I just thought I'd add to the linguistic mix.) Buenos Caminos!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Years. Wishing you all health, happiness and good luck in the coming year.
Warm thoughts to all from cold and snowy Canada :D
