Confessions of a couch potato

Hi, I'm greenshank. Although my nickname indicates that I can fly I don't have wings...

So I walk. A lot during my holidays, but at home during winter not so much.
And so far I've never done a proper walking holiday. So I've decided to give it a try.
As I'm a slow walker and would like to draw some as well, I've decided that 15-20 km a day is a good start. I could probably manage 30 as well, but I don't want to pressure myself too much. Walking is supposed to make me feel better, not like an achiever, right?

I'm glad I found this forum, I've already got some good links from another member!

Starting to get nervous...

With my Camino de Madrid starting on Tuesday (by plane) / Wednesday (by feet) I'm not able to concentrate on other things... I have weighed every item in my pack and have found the lightest of everything.
Tha backpac now weighs 9 kilo, which is a bit more than I aimed for, but I will bring sleepingbag and matrass. Add water and some snacks to that and I will walk with 10 kilo on my back. Not too bad. But I will try to see if I can leave something else at home.

If anyone but me plans to start walking in Madrid, let me know.
I'm a bit crazy I think

Buen Camino

Greenshank,

You think you're a bit crazy? Indeed you are!
And so are the rest of us. ;-)

Buen camino!

Buen Camino Greenshank.

It will be quite a shock between the buzzing of Barajas and the peace on the camino... once out of Madrid of course. Have fun.

New user here. Hello to you all. New to the forum but not to the Camino. I was told about this Forum whilst I walking the lovely scenic 'Camino Norte'. I'm planning walking another in June.
Hi, A couple years ago I flew into Geneva and took a train to Laussane to begin my Francigena. Next year I would like to fly into Geneva and walk the south side - France into Aigle, Switzerland...
