Making a Donation in Memory of My Husband

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I’m sorry for your loss.

One of the best known and highly respected guidebook authors, John Brierley, also passed recently. His books introduced many people to the various caminos and in his memory a fund has been established to create an albergue on the Camino Portuguese; that may be a suitable option. I am sure there are many more.

Please accept my condolences @Hallierae Some excellent suggestions already and I'm sure more will come. I also wanted to mention that sometimes people walk a Camino dedicated to the memory of a loved one. Perhaps there is someone in your family who would like to do this at some stage in memory of your husband who had that dream.

If the person walks to Santiago de Compostela and receives their Compostela from the Pilgrims' Office, they can have a handwritten dedication added to the Compostela to include the name of the loved one. It's called Vicarie Pro which means in the name of. Over the years I have met a number of people doing this - and I will be doing the same later this year in the name of a dear friend who passed away recently. Best wishes to you and your family.
