- Camino Portugese 2017 plan, La Puy to Figeac 2017 plan
My name is David, 71 year old Australian. In 2018 I walked from Le Puy to Figeac-wonderful. In May 2018, for my next stage, I will retrace my steps a little and return to the magic of Conques, and journey SSW to Toulouse, approx 230km over 9 days.
I would like to hear from anyone who has walked the Conques to Toulouse route. It promises to be a very beautiful section of the Chemin de St Jacques, passing through very beautiful villages such as Peyrusse le Roc, Villefranche, Najac, Cordes sur Ciel, Gaillac and Rabastens, with all of these places having very historic and strong links with the Chemin in the middle ages. I will send regular updates of the journey, to help others consider whether to choose this alternative route, rather than follow the GR 65 all the way. In the meantime, any comments on your experience on the route would be appreciated.
