When crossing from France to Spain do you get a stamp on your passport? Do you have to go through customs?

Here's the border crossing on the Route Napoleon between SJPP and Roncesvalles. The customs inspectors must have been on a break when we passed through

 
There is no customs while traveling between the European Union countries.
Probably the old customs buildings still exist at most crossings but they are no longer used for border control.

Only true for the Schengen Treaty countries. That still leaves a number of European Union countries operating full border controls.
 
Well... at least true between France, Spain and Portugal.
