Cycling Camino del Norte on my own bike

Camino by the Northern way July 2016
Hola amigos,

I really want to do the Camino de Santiago. I feel like its pulling me towards it. But I do not have enough knowledge about the routes, the camino passport and other things required. I will give myself 15 days to cycle the Northern route starting in San Sebastian or Zumaia on the 29th of June and will try my best to finish it on the 13th of June. I have packed minimally and essentials according to cycling the camino.

I have a few questions for people more experienced in cycling the Camino :

1. How safe is the Northern Route for a girl on the bicycle?
2. How is the weather closer to the coast?
3. Do you think 15 days are enough to cycle this route, as I haven't trained at all?
4. As I'm taking my own bike, I want to know if I can bring it back on the bus to Bilbao and then to Clermont Ferrand in France?
5. I am a little low on budget so I don't want to book any tours, but where to get the necessary items, the Camino passport, scallop shell and guidebook in San Sebastian?
6. Address of a reasonable bicycle shop in San Sebastian?
7. Have I missed anything out?

If anyone could please answer any of the above questions, it would be of great help.
Any other friendly advice is welcome. Thanks in advance. :)

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hi!
Did you finish your journey ok? I found your question and was excited because I am also a woman considering doing a portion on my own but feel a bit overwhelmed by the mapping portion. I have a skeleton idea of city to city from guide websites, but dont want to do a guided tour and pay a lot, be stuck to the same group, and miss out on the Camilo experience. Would love to hear about your experience and any recommendations. I'm hoping to do Bilbao to Gijon.
