I'm going to try walking my trail in reverse today. When I was on Camino and stopped to take a picture I tried to remember to turn around and look where I came from, normally just as spectacular.Wherever we may be in today's chaotic world
The Joy of Steps a 18/01/21 Guardian article by Amy Fleming provides several links for ways to give a simple daily walk new purpose .
Since in France we are now under a nightly 12 hour couvrefeu/curfew from 6pm to 6am I'll try Fleming's suggestion Don't just count steps for my daily pre sunset stroll to get the mail.
Ultreia!

Nice picture Margaret, these memories ...Indeed.
Looking back with relief is always fun!
Here I am at the Mirador de Mostelares AFTER leaving Castrojeriz behind 18/02/2009. Ouf!
I'm glad that you are enjoying Language Transfer. It doesn't teach a whole lot of vocabulary, but it teaches you how to use the language, which I think is more important. You can then continue to build your vocabulary with other methods. I also find the instructor to be very calm and reassuring. In fact if I'm stressed listening to him makes me calmer.Hi Trecile !
Had a look at Transfer Language on my desktop;listened to the first four episodes and downloaded the app!
I like the way it works.
I know that i will stick with it because i am already playing around with the Spanish i already had and adding in more by using the simple methods put forward in those first four podcasts. As there are 90, i think i will be able to glean enough to cope in many situations i find myself in in Spain.
As the guy said in some examples the word fit is not perfect but good enough to be understood by the Spanish person;who will probably correct you from which you will learn!!!
Knowing me i will make mistakes in pronunciation;but to me its a hassle free vocabulary expanding exercise!
Thanks for the heads up.
Woody
I'm in France too, but can go for a walk at midnight as I'm exercising dogs and that's allowed (not that I meet anyone as I live in an isolated position. Have to be careful not to tire them out and only do one long (14 - 15km) a week, another about 8 and the others in between 2 and 5, so they certainly keep me walking.Wherever we may be in today's chaotic world

6pm to 6am.... ouch thats pretty hard core, made me feel appriciative of what restricted freedoms I have. IMHO gratitude is so important.... saw an abondoned broken zimmerframe the last couple of nights by the side of the road.... we are so lucky and take for granted to be able to walk. I will try and walk with gratitude tomorrowWherever we may be in today's chaotic world
