Del Norte - August/September (2019)
Hello perigrinos/as
So, if you have walked the Del Norte in August or September, do you have any helpful comments or advice? I am "an older" pilgrim and will be walking solo in August/September 2019..

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I walked with two friends in Sep/Oct 2016. Accommodations were readily available but then again, we stayed in a mixture of albergues, pensions, and inexpensive hotels. August is a big holiday month for Europeans and since the the cities and beaches are a big attraction, accommodations may be a little more difficult to find. We met several woman along the way that were walking on their own. From what I've read, traffic has picked up considerably on the Norte over the last couple of years so there should be more peregrinos than what we encountered. If you have a Facebook account, there is now a page for Women on the Norte.

Thanks so much for that! Just nice to know I won't be totally alone. My lodgings are being pre booked so I will not have to worry about finding accommodations. My biggest concern was "the markers" along the way.
Even though the "Frances" was well marked, I still managed to find myself lost at times......mostly entering and leaving the bigger cities and through industrial settings.
I will look into the Facebook site. Thanks!!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
