All the agonising over packing lists is finished. I fly out of Brisbane Australia tomorrow 17 Sep for my first CF. I start walking from St Jean Thursday 20 Sep. I am excited, but a little apprehensive as well. I feel as well prepared as I can be: physically, practically and emotionally - mostly thanks to the great advice and stories on this wonderful forum. Heartfelt thanks to all who contribute. Pack is around 8.5 kg sans H2O - would be a little over a kilo lighter were it not for all the ‘old man stuff’ I need to keep me alive and squared-away. If you see a distinguished, mature man humping this pack - then it is not me. But, strangely my pack looks just the same. So come up and say ‘Hi Shep’ and we’ll have a chat and maybe share some cervesa fria and vino tinto. Cooee Shep.F5BC081B-2E17-42A1-8A83-B0336F6312B2.jpeg

Hi Shep, about this time last year I was collapsing in Zubiri. So many memories and a great time of year for it. I saw Aussies at least every second day, so plenty of mates around. Good luck, M !
