ALL, SPRING IS UPON US AND SOME OF US ARE GETTING READY TO WALK THE CAMINO THIS YEAR!!!
Our Spring 2014 meeting will be held in the Bonnie Doon area in the church: Paroise St. Thomas d'Aquin at 8410- 89 Street, Edmonton. (Thanks you to Chuck and Martin for changing/arranging the new meeting venue).
Our Meeting Plan:
6:30-7 pm: set up, feel free to come and help us set up the room, make coffee, cut cake etc.
7pm: Chuck and his merry men of music will open our meeting with song
7:10-8:15 George and Shaun from Campers Village will show off relevant and necessary
'walker's gear'...mostly practical 2014 equipment, clothes and stuff
8:20-8:40 Chuck ( who with two other members of our group are walking the Portugese
Camino this May) is going to 'model/show off' his pack and all its contents. I think
he's also going to do a bit of a 'Camino pilgrim fashion show'
If another
experienced Camino walker ( maybe one of our Camino gals wants to show us her
loaded pack? If you want to join in on the fun, be our guest. Bring your
loaded pack and be prepared to 'show it all'.
8:40-9pm We'll finish with our usual question and answer segment.
psst. According to the Cathedral in Santiago just under 2,000 pilgrims entered the city in January and February of this year...
BTW: Our meeting room fee is $100 and we will again ask people to bring: loonies, toonies and cookies/pastries to this Spring meeting.
