Embarking from Astorga in 3 Days

Dear All,
My name is Tim. I hail from the Midwest (U.S.) and am beginning my Camino from Astorga in just three days. I realize it's "cheating", but I'm only able to get two weeks off from work for the pilgrimage. I'm open to however God wants to use this to draw me closer to Him. I'm filled with both trepidation and excitement. While I've prepared emotionally, spiritually, and materially, I was unable to adequately prepare physically. Truly, how can you prepare to walk 13 miles a day when you have a life to live? My backpack and supplies are 15 lbs.

I'd appreciate any prayers that any of you fellow pilgrims, or readers, could offer up on my behalf. I've never done anything like this before in my life. I'm not in the best shape, but am confident that the pilgrimage will draw me closer to Christ.

Thanks,

Tim

Tim,
1. The minute you step on the Camino the word "cheat" doesn't exist UNLESS that's what YOU intend to do!
2. If the 15# includes water you're in like Flynn!
3. If you've walked 13 miles in ONE day, your body will understand what it's in for. God will take care of the rest.
4. You and thousands of others like you "have never done anything like this before in (their) life"!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Buen Camino! The camino is special wherever you start!

I started in Astorga. You get the same Compostela as everyone else. Just dont make the mistake of asking the hospitalera in the albergue if she speaks English when you pick your credencial up..."this is Spain, we speak Spanish..." Yes, Miss :)

Good luck!
