Found out about this albergue from friends we met at Orrison who are ahead of us at this point. Its name is Albergue San Francisco de Asis, C/ Alcade Miguel Castano no. 4, telephone 637 439 848. 10 Euros for a clean, quiet room with two bunks and bathroom. Free use of washer and dryer in basement. Wifi. Great cafe (Orly's) directly across street for breakfast. Located just off to the left of the Camino as you approach the old part of the city.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-

This is primarily a student residence; here is the listing in the Eroski web site >> http://caminodesantiago.consumer.es./albergue-residencia-fundacion-ademar

Thank you for the link. Yes, there are students around here somewhere, but mostly there are happy smiling faces of fellow peregrino(a)s. This is the best albergue we've stayed in so far.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-

Proof that pilgrims are further down the comfort chain than students?? THAT won't be encouraging to those aspiring to a higher degree of comfort...

At this point, we are further down the comfort chain. The difference may be that we know what we know, whereas the students may not know what they don't know!

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
