If you are planning to take a bus back to Santiago, then end in Finesterre as it has more options for bussing, which is why I went to Muxia first. Being a much more quiet town it had fewer busses running.Quick question hopefully.
If walking from Santiago to Finisterre and Muxia is there a general opinion on whether to go to Finisterre or Muxia first?
Is one easier to get back to Santiago from?
And do you need to book the bus back or can you just turn up?
Cheers

I totally agree with Colette. Myself and 5 friends did this last September. Muxia is the perfect end to this Camino. One part is total peace. Round the other side of the head land the mighty Atlantic comes crashing in onto the. The little church dedicated to Our Lady of the Boat. overlooks this rocky headland and you can pray peacefully and light a candle. We shared a taxi back to Santiago on the Saturday morning and ended with the pilgrims mass at lunchtime. Amazing. Buen camino and Ultreia xI’ve only walked Finisterra then on to Muxia but feel it’s the best way because Santiago is busy, Finisterra is less busy and Muxia is total peace, a beautiful end to a Camino.
Sorry meant to say that the Atlantic comes crashing onto the rocks!I totally agree with Colette. Myself and 5 friends did this last September. Muxia is the perfect end to this Camino. We went to Muxia first, mostly due to the transportation issue. Muxia, at least the rebuilt church and rocks, are far more reflective than Finisterre; in retrospect, it would have been nice to end there. However, we were able to attend Mass at the chapel on the rocks in Muxia - I think it was at like 4 or 5 pm. Muxia is much smaller and less commercial too. You can get a certificate of completion in both of those towns too, just so you know - and they are very pretty. It's true it is much easier to get a bus in Finisterre, but it is quite possible to get one in Muxia with a bit of planning. Imo the walk into Finisterre from sdc is stunning, particularly as you descend into Cee. Only my opinion, no answer is wrong. Off topic but you would not believe what my autocorrect wanted to change sdc to!

I enjoyed Muxia last and then took the 6:30 am bus back to Santiago the next morning. Having a final memory and picture of the ocean and rocks in Muxia is priceless. It is a wonderful place to say goodbye to the country that takes such good care of us.
Hi, we walked from Santiago to Finistère and muxia last September. Muxia is the ultimate destination for the end of the Camino. Its so Beautiful, so wonderful. The Atlantic crashing on the rocks below the church of Our Lady of the Boat where you can pray quietly and light a candle and give thanks. Apart from Santiago, it is my most favourite place. Very spiritual, very emotional.Quick question hopefully.
