After hearing about The Camino from a friend 20 years ago, I'm finally making the pilgrimage myself! I arrive in Pamplona on Sept. 9th, take the pilgrim bus to SJPdP on the 10th where I'll rest up a day before setting off on the 12th.

The people on this forum have been invaluable since I started my preparations and training back in April. I've been reading your posts about gear, accommodations, logistics and treating injuries. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your experiences. I feel like my Camino started many months ago and arriving in Spain will just be the next stage of the journey.

I'm looking forward to meeting folks who are also departing around the 12th. I'll be the one with the "Vegan" patch on a blue backpack.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Buen Camino Jeannett, you may find it a little harder as a Vegan. On my first Camino,as a "veggie",I did have a problem with meals.Things have gotten easier, but remember garlicsoup may have pork in it,ensalada(mixed salad)may have tuna, etc.I lost a lot of weight but put it back on once home.I hope your Camino is everything you want it to be.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Thanks for your words of encouragement! Being vegan will definitely make the pilgrimage more of a challenge. Posts on this forum re: veg-friendly albergues, restaurants and shops have definitely helped. There are also some listings at HappyCow.net. But, there's no getting around having to buy, carry and cook my own food along the way, I'm afraid. I've run across a couple helpful blogs of vegans who've successfully completed the journey (Vegan Camino and Ricardo y Susanita, notably) to help me get prepared.

Any additional suggestions folks have are greatly appreciated!!

Hi Jeanette, it is a next stage of your journey. :):)It was for me anyway, for me now it's become an addiction. The coming years I planned a Camino every year, every year a different one.
I wish you a great journey and a Buen Camino, Peter.
